We’re all about the happy face emoji ? so when we see positive news we like to share it. This story from Indonesia where a community has given their village a rainbow facelift certainly left us with a smile on our faces!?

After the local council committee assigned 3,000,000,000 Indonesian Rupiah (£17,000) for the project to take place in the village of Kampung Pelangi, even the mayor reportedly got his hands dirty and painted over 200 of the houses himself!?

One of the local teachers, Slamet Widodo, came up with the idea for creating the Rainbow Village ?to transform the struggling area, which was considered a slum, into a tourist attraction.

It’s not just all vivid colours and rainbows, there’s also plenty of art to discover around every corner including psychedelic hearts❤️, angel wings?, dinosaurs and polka dots.
