Happy news: we love the chainsaw nun!

7 years ago by Laura

In the wake of Hurricane Irma there’s not much to be cheerful about for the people whose lives have literally been turned upside down across the Caribbean and Southeast United States ?️. Amongst the carnage and catastrophe, Sister Margaret Ann has brought some light relief and a smile to locals’ faces ?.

Caught on camera by an off-duty police officer ?, Sister Margaret Ann (now also known as the chainsaw-wielding nun)  decided to take matters into her own hands when it came to the clear-up of her community in West Kendall, Florida, starting with a tree that had fallen into the road ?.

When told by the officer, “You know though, Sister, the police will do this”, she replied, “It’s going to take them too long… it’s dangerous, people are going to get hurt out here ?.”

Sister Margaret Ann went to the school ? she works in after the storm where she knew there was a chainsaw in the cupboard.

She told CNN, “There was a need and I had the means so I wanted to help out. We teach our students: do what you can to help other people, don’t think of yourselves ❤️. That’s what I wanted to do.”

We love to see random acts of kindness around the world ?!

What good deeds have you done recently ?? Please share them with us in the comments below ?.
